Thorne Broccoli Seed Extract (Crucera-SGS™) contains 50 mg of standardised sulforaphane glucosinolate (SGS™) per capsule, sourced from broccoli seed extract (Brassica oleracea italica). SGS™ is a patented broccoli extract developed in partnership with researchers from Johns Hopkins University and licensed by Brassica Protection Products. Glucoraphanin is the precursor compound naturally found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, kale, and brussels sprouts.
Each capsule provides a standardised dose of 50 mg of glucoraphanin, measured by HPLC analysis. Over the past two decades, more than 500 research papers have been published on SGS™.
Note: For optimal conversion of glucoraphanin to sulforaphane in the body, this product is best taken together with foods containing natural myrosinase enzyme, such as raw broccoli, raw mustard seeds, daikon radish, or arugula.
