Thorne MethylGuard provides a comprehensive blend featuring 1.8 g of betaine (trimethylglycine, TMG) per daily serving (3 capsules), together with active forms of three key B vitamins: L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), and pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (vitamin B6).
Betaine contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism (at a daily intake of 1.5 g of betaine or more — a threshold met with 3 capsules of MethylGuard).
In addition, folate contributes to normal amino acid synthesis, to normal homocysteine metabolism, and to normal psychological function. Vitamin B12 contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, to normal homocysteine metabolism, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B6 contributes to normal cysteine synthesis, to normal homocysteine metabolism, to normal protein and glycogen metabolism, and to the regulation of hormonal activity.
